Gen Beta & Your Future

Greetings on entering the Gen Beta Age. Those born on and after 1st January 2025 will be the Gen Beta. With this generation coming, even Gen Z appears so old! Gen Beta is a reference to those born in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

This is how various generations are defined.

• The Greatest Generation (GI Generation)- Born 1901–1927
• The Silent Generation - Born 1928–1945
• Baby Boom Generation - Born 1946–1964
• Generation X- Born 1965–1980
• Millennial Generation or Generation Y - Born 1981–1996
• Generation Z or iGen - Born 1997–2010
• Generation Alpha - Born 2010-2024
• Generation Beta - Born 2025-2039

In my view, Gen Beta is not for those born on or after 1st Jan 2025, but everyone living today. Because, no one can stay untouched from AI in the ‘Age of Artificial Intelligence’.

I am pasting here a slide from my presentation I have made in the past two weeks on the levels of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on displacement or job loss.

There are five levels of Artificial Intelligence,

Level 1: Technologies like Chatbots - purely back office - no decision making is involved

Level 2: Technologies seek to streamline processes making processes . AI systems that can solve problems at a human level

Level 3: Agents - Systems that can take actions

Level 4: Innovators: AI that can aid in invention

Level 5: Organizational - AI that can do the work of an organization without human approval

At each level of AI deployment, there will be a displacement - the machine replacing the man, and this will be gradual.

At level 1, the low value tasks will be replaced by AI

At Level 2, AI will aid in the decision making and replace higher value tasks

At Level 3, AI will replace jobs

At Level 4, AI is aid in creating more innovative products and service

At Level 5, AI will replace the face of the organization across the value chain

So, let us understand the fact that ;

Artificial Intelligence is REAL and there is nothing ‘Artificial’ in it. In fact, AI is many ways superior to a human being.

The above slide is my favourite slide. Intel Corporation was the most valuable tech corporation because it had a monopoly on the chip. Every computer came with the hologram sticker - logo ‘Intel Inside’, and the senior management at Intel became so complacent that they missed out on the innovations happening, and today, they are out of completion and will not return back to competition anytime soon.
